Hi, I’m Fiona — a full-time maths tutor in Glasgow with over eight years’ experience helping Scottish students through the SQA curriculum. I hold a First-Class BSc in Mathematics from the University of Glasgow and a PGDE from Strathclyde, and I’ve taught in classrooms, one-to-one, and online throughout my career.
My approach
I believe every student can succeed in maths with the right support. My lessons are patient, structured, and built around the student’s own pace — I never rush, and I never assume prior knowledge. Every session starts with a quick check-in on what went well and what felt tricky since the last lesson, then we work through targeted examples and past paper questions.
Experience
I’ve worked with National 5, Higher, and Advanced Higher students for the last eight years, with many progressing from a B to an A between Higher and Advanced Higher. I also support younger pupils preparing for the transition from primary to S1–S2 maths, and adult learners returning to education.
